A human rights-based approach is about empowering people to know and claim their rights and increasing the ability and accountability of individuals and institutions who are responsible for respecting, protecting and fulfilling rights.
Systemic advocacy seeks to influence and change a ‘system’ such as legislation, government policy, organisational practice or community attitude.
Mental Health Carers Australia regularly makes submissions to a range of government, organisation and regulatory bodies on mental health carer needs.
